Official Results for the Community Vote of Athabasca Dene North of 60 Agreement and Related Athabasca Dene Legacy Agreement

Marsi cho to everyone who took the time to attend the information sessions, ask questions, and cast their vote. Your involvement made a real difference. We are proud to share that out of the 3,224 registered voters, 2,674 of you voted (83%) and that 2,608 of those votes were in favour of the agreements. That’s an incredible 97.5% of votes in favour of the Agreements! With this strong show of support, our communities have approved both Agreements, marking a major step forward in our journey towards a North of 60 land claim agreement. While we now await final approval from the House of Commons and the Senate, our work will continue in the months ahead. We will begin setting up the Nihoghedi Kóé organization to ensure that we are ready to implement the Agreements in a good and meaningful way. We are excited for what lies ahead and will continue to keep you informed every step of the way. Thank you again for your support and participation in this historic moment!
